HR Specialist


Qualification Requirements:


Associates Degree with 2+ years experience in Human Resources; would consider candidate with BS or BA Degree and no experience.

Manufacturing experience a plus.

Knowledge of employee benefit programs helpful.

Should be familiar with Federal and State employment laws.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs-Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills, personal integrity, and must have the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Prefer a candidate with a strong desire to learn.


Principal Responsibilities:


HR Related Activities


  • Daily timekeeping, run labor/payroll reports, make adjustments as needed.

  • Monitor attendance inbox and ensure that the employee calendar is updated timely

  • Sort and distribute weekly paychecks, assist employees with issues/questions, communicate payroll deduction changes, etc.

  • Oversee the administration of all benefits including medical, dental, company paid life, supplemental life, short term disability, FSA, HSA, and 401k

  • Coordinate wellness activities

  • Coordinate and assist with annual open enrollment.

  • Recruiting-assist with advertising, scheduling interviews

  • Maintain & update new hire & benefit orientation materials.

  • Conduct New Hire & Benefits Orientation.

  • Maintain Personnel Files and all relevant employee information filed per State and Federal DOL Requirements

  • Complete all paperwork and claims related to Short Term Disability and Worker’s Compensation and oversee payment of premiums for medical, dental, etc…

  • Prepare and send FMLA paperwork and track FMLA absences.

  • Assist with the scheduling and coordination of safety training and other training as required by management

  • Assist with coordination of company events.

  • Remain up to date with federal, state and local labor law regulations, attend seminars offered locally and inform management of change

  • Maintain bulletin boards with up to date employment posters, mandatory notices, wellness info, etc…

  • Perform general office duties such as scanning, filing, shredding, etc..

Executive Administrative Activities
  • Assist CEO with scheduling and coordinating meetings, luncheons, etc…

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations as requested by the Director of Finance / HR and CEO

  • Complete administrative duties, such as filing and preparation of expense reports for the Director of Finance / HR and CEO
