Ascension Industries Would Like To Announce Two New Additions To The Company In The Durco Filtration Field Service Team.
Venkat Venkataraman
July 30, 2007- Ascension Industries is pleased to announce that Venkat Venkataraman has joined the Ascension Durco Filtration Field Service Team, as our Manager of Engineering, based out of North Tonawanda, NY office.
Venkat has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the design and fabrication of skids and pressure vessels. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Venkat was born and schooled in New Delhi, India. In 1969 he earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering from Ranchi University. He then came to the United States to continue his education at the University of Buffalo where he received his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1971.
He Then entered the working world to design beer coolers for Wittamann Hasselberg. Rumor has it that you could see him taking beer from the beer cooler to make sure that his designs were keeping it cool enough. This just goes to show you that Ascension's new manager of engineering is a hands-on engineer.
In 1974, he began work for Linde Division of UCC in the UNOX division. He received a patent in the field of waste water treatment. After several years in this division he moved to the cold box design group as a supervisor. He quickly moved up the ladder and became responsible for the design and manufacturing of both cryogenic and non-cryogenic gas plants. In these positions he became very familiar with both the design and fabrication of large pressure vessels.
In 2005, he joined Innovative Energy Systems in Oakbrook, NY as their engineering manager. Innovative energy converts land fill gas into electrical power. The waste heat from the Caterpillar engines is used to heat a very large greenhouse which produces tomatoes. Venkat's group of engineers was responsible for the design and fabrication of the gas conditioning plant and the power generation plant. The plant has latest technology and has an efficiency in excess of 87%. This design is now being used for similar facilities in the US and the Pacific Rim countries.
