South Korea MKE (KGS / MOCIE)Pressure Vessel Certification
Ascension Industries is certified by the South Korea Ministry Of Knowledge & Economy (MKE) for manufacture of pressure vessels and related equipment intended for import into South Korea. This certification was previously provided through KGS / MOCIE.
Ascension Industries now holds MKE (Ministry of Knowledge & Economy) Certification, as required for approved manufacture of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and related equipment intended for import into South Korea.
Explanation of MKE (Previously KGS/MOCIE) Pressure Vessel Certification For South Korea
From November 27, 2006 pressure vessels and related equipment became regulated in South Korea for both quality and safety. Without this certification, which employs many aspects of the ASME Code as well as ISO policies and procedures, no pressure vessels may be imported into South Korea.
Ascension Industries first received KGS / MOCIE (Korea Gas Safety Corporation / Ministry Of Commerce Industry & Energy) certification in March 2007.
During a South Korea government agency restructuring in 2008 the Ministry of Commerce & Energy (MOCIE) was renamed as the Ministry of Knowledge & Economy (MKE). Ascension Industries existing KGS / MOCIE certificate then remained valid and acceptable whenever an MKE certificate for ASME VIII, Division 1 pressure vessels was required.
In March 2010 Ascension Industries went through the comprehensive reappraisal process to renew their certificate and the company now holds the MKE Certificate for manufacture of pressure vessels and related equipment for import into South Korea. This new MKE Certificate replaces Ascension's previous KGS / MOCIE Certification.
