    Durco Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters are designed for high flow rates and batch operation typically in applications with 2-6 wt% solids loadings, depending on application. All units provide maximum filtrate clarity and meet ASME code requirements.

    Durco Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters are available in 2 model variants, characterized by discharge mode:

  • Type HC Wet Cake Discharge Filters - (picture bottom left) are sluicing discharge mode horizontal pressure leaf filters
  • Type DHC Dry Cake Discharge Filters - (picture top left) are vibrating discharge mode horizontal pressure leaf filters

    Durco HC and DHC Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters are custom built & optimized for each application, and are specifically engineeered to operate with the minimum amount of maintenance.

    The retractable shell design eliminates interior wheels and tracks for filters up to 600 or more sq ft in size, depending on the material filtered. This minimizes corrosion problems and easily allows the entire filter leaf bundle to be fully exposed for inspection.

    The supporting wheel assemblies are mounted on the filter shell exterior. All process piping is connected to the stationary section, so there is no need to disconnect the filter piping system to open the vessel.

    Durco HC and DHC Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters allow you to implement an automated closed system turn-key filtering process that drastically reduces operator involvement and improves process containment. Features include:

  • Available Up To 72 in Diameter Tank Size (custom vessel sizes available)
  • Large filtration area up to 2,000 sq ft, and solids holding capacity to 6 %
  • Submicron particle retention - ideal for filtering to 1/10 micron
  • Automatic operation with constant flow rate up to 2,000 gpm
  • Hydraulic Quick Opening Closure (QOC) and shell retraction minimize downtime
  • Dry solids removal can eliminate solids disposal problems
  • Rubber, Stainless Steel Or Titanium linings available for severe service

    Durco HC and DHC Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters can accomodate a wide variety of available filter leaf media to suit your process requirements:

  • Metal Screened Filter Leaves
  • Metal Screened Filter Leaves With Fabric Bags
  • Polypropylene Filter Leaves for low temperature or corrosive applications

    Pump, pre-coat and admix skids are also available with full instrumentation and integrated controls.

    Durco Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter Design & Applications

    Durco Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters are application-designed, and offered in semi-automatic or fully automatic models for fast and efficient liquid-solid separation and particulate removal:

    • Semi-Automatic Pressure Leaf Filters feature a central control panel for sequence step activation. The various pump drives, agitator drives and valves are automatically activated to the required mode for the process step

    Fully Automated Pressure Leaf Filters feature either touch-screen programmers or programmable controllers, which are used to ensure that each process step is activated automatically. Flow rate and turbidity may, if required, be monitored. Various options are available such as main panel graphics, manual overrides, alarms, remote terminal boxes, station wiring and completely piped and wired skid-mounted systems
