The chart provided above provides some useful guidelines when defining the optimum filtering technology for Your industrial process. Compare Your required flow rate and the solids content of Your process stream to the curves for different filtration and drying equipment provided on the log-scale chart.

Tubular Filters are ideal for continuous filtration of process streams with low solids loading (<200 ppm) and high flow rates:

TE Series Tubular Filters (pictured left) allow continuous filtration at flow rates from 1 to 5,000 gpm, with particle retention down to 1 micron
PC Series Tubular Filters use precoat technology to allow continuous filtration with particle retention down to 0.1 micron and 50% faster backwash
PTE Series Tubular Filters allow continuous filtration of almost any corrosive liquid with particle retention down to 1 micron
PVC Series Tubular Filters are designed for water and mildly aggressive process streams to 1 micron, or low solids loading filtration for processes utilizing PVC piping

Manual or Automatic Backwash Control is available for all tubular filters, and a wide variety or Filter Media are available to suit Your process requirements.

Pressure Leaf Filters are ideal for batch filtration of process streams with up to about 6 wt% solids loading, depending on application, and high flow rates:

Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters (pictured left) maximize filtration area, and are suited to larger process requirements
Vertical Pressure Leaf Filters minimize footprint, and are suited to small to mid-range process requirements

Both configurations are available in either wet cake (sluicing) or dry cake (vibrating) discharge models, and can accomodate steam jackets.

A wide variety of leaf filter media are available including metal screened, metal with bags, and polypropylene.

Pump, precoat and admix skids are available with full instrumentation and integrated controls.

Filter Presses are ideal for batch filtration of industrial / municipal liquid and slurry process streams with high solids loading (3-30 wt%):

EP Sidebar Filter Presses (pictured left) offer economical operation and most units require only compressed air utility feed.
QP Overhead Filter Presses utilize 4-sidebar construction, and offer enhanced performance in the most severely demanding applications.

Durco Filter Presses are specifically designed to offer proven durability. Both models can be equipped with Automatic Shifters, Drip Trays, Cake Chutes and Conveyors.

A full range of control is available, from manual operation, through semi-automatic, to fully automatic.

Sludge Dryers are ideal for supplemental dewatering of sludge cake (>25 wt% solids), greatly reducing volume and weight:

Durco Enviro Dri Sludge Dryers are typically used in conjunction with a filter press where the filter press discharges its cake directly into the dryer. This integrated design provides a small footprint.

Low-pressure steam (<25 psi) contained in a steam jacket provides heating energy while the sludge cake is mixed within the dryer.

Manual or hydraulic operation is available for inlet and outlet doors.

Pressure Nutsches are ideal for piloting of new or modified filtration processes or for full scale applications requiring recovery of the filter cake:

Durco Pressure Nutches are designed to incorporate multiple processes within the vessel such as streaming, sparging, drying or washing.

A wide variety of solids loading and flow rates including intermittent feeding can be accommodated. Filter cakes can exceed several inches in thickness.

Manual versions or hydraulically actuated, fully automated versions are available for custom process applications.
